Joining in - Hodgepodge

I've not joined in with a blog round robin for a while (not since my days as a mummy blogger) but when you want to post and your brain goes go on then what are you going to bore people with its always a fun one to do. So here goes.

1. Big week in the US of A...do you do your own taxes? What's something you've found 'taxing' lately?

Luckily the blog doesn't generate any money so I don't' have to do any taxes but I'm also from Wales so no need to worry about them.  The only taxing thing currently in my sites is the anxiety around sorting out and finalising the holiday parking and travel insurance

2. When it comes to travel are you a last minute packer or a lay it all out a week in advance type? Do you struggle to pack light? Share a packing tip that has worked for you.

So, am off on holiday in 23 days (at time of posting it will be 21 days) and I am SOOO excited about the holiday that I've already got a box of clothes that I cant wear until then so that I can pack them. Hoping that I can manage to pack light as I only have a cabin case for a week. Normally, I roll and over pack so looking forward to hearing how others pack.

3. April is National Grilled Cheese Month. Hmmm...who knew it got its own month? Do you like a grilled cheese sandwich? What ingredient do you add to take yours to the next level?

Cheese on toast, yummy,  must tell J as he loves a grilled cheese (or cheese on toast if your from round these parts). I love either adding Worcestershire sauce onto the cheese  or having a dipping pot of mayo and hot sauce.

4. There's a well known quote that says-

'A ship in the harbor is safe, but that's not what ships are built for." John A. Shedd

Is constant growth necessary or do you think it's more important to prioritize stability and peace in your life?

I honestly struggle with growth, growth in work life I can do and love a bit of CPD but I know that there are things that I should focus on and grow within my personal life and my me. I'm turning 50 this year and the stubborn part of me says no you shouldn't have to grow or change a part of you but then I'm aware that there are things I do that drives everyone mad so maybe I should. I'll probably label this a work in progress for a while!

5. Let's wrap this up with a fun spring this or that-

  • daffodils or tulips Daffodils, but I'm Welsh and its the national symbol
  • lemonade or iced tea Lemonade
  • gardening or hiking Hiking, although I love a garden dabble I have no idea what I'm doing
  • ladybugs or butterflies Butterflies
  • umbrella or raincoat Would prefer neither but as the rain here comes down in buckets it would have to be raincoat
  • floral patterns or polka dots Polka dots

6. Insert your own random thought here.

Nid y gog a wna y Gwanwyn

Thought I'd pop some Welsh on, this is a Welsh proverb that means The cuckoo doesn't make the spring.  This came to mind as I had seen a swallow on my walks with eldest child the other day and to me it means that summer is on its way however, since then the weather has changed and gone back to being autumnal here in Wales again.

That was fun, now must remember to link it up on Wednesday
