Back to last year, when I was signed off on sick due to burnout (or perimenopause depending if your my GP or my Occupational Health therapist), I did not much for a week. And as part of the not much, I decided to not drink my usual coffee.
I didn't start to drink coffee until my late teens, trying to remember when but I think it was after being in Italy as a 17 year old with school. Coffee was the chic thing then in the 90s in Italy and being the eldest on the school trip we were allowed some freedom, I remember drinking coffee and cocktails (maybe we werent allowed to do the second thing but am sure we did!).
So for 30 years I have drunk coffee, always black (like the way my dad drinks it not my soul) and never with sugar. And now I drink decaff coffee and tea. My teas are mostly herbal and I have got a random selection of favourites.
Raspberry and lemon - its very pink and just luscious, and if I don't drink it when its warm its fab cooled down too
Another fruity Twinings one, this is full of forest fruits and is a caffeine free green tea
An old favourite that is always really hard to find in the shops - we have a range of pukka tea bags in the tea cupboard.
So, my way is now mostly decaffeinated - I feel better and less on edge so its obviously working, There are days when I will still have a caffeinated drink but its not my go to crutch these days.
Ffi
I have been drinking decaffeinated hot drinks over the last couple of months and I am really feeling the benefit. x
